Featured Studies:

Do you have Type 2 diabetes and have a history of heart disease?
Are your sugars not in control?

The study involves the use of a diabetes medication called Januvia or placebo in patients with type 2 diabetes with a history of heart or vascular disease (example heart attacks, procedures for heart attacks, strokes or peripheral vascular disease).

The duration of this study will be about 4 years (may vary from 3 to 6 years depending on time of your enrollment and progress of the study). You will visit the study doctor 4 times in the first year and 2 times a year afterwards. 

To participate in the study, you should:
  • Be ≥ 50 years of age
  • Not be using insulin currently
  • Have a HbA1c of ≥ 6.5% and ≤ 8.0% (within the past 3 months)
If you qualify, you will receive study related care and study medication(s) at no charge. You will also receive compensation for travel expenses.

Do you have type 2 diabetes and are taking pioglitazone and metformin? Are your sugars not in control?

This study involves patients with Type 2 diabetes. Study participants will have 11 visits over 1 year with a possibility to continue treatment for another six months during the extension phase (for a total of approximately one year of treatment).

To participate in the study, you should:
    Be between 18-75 years of age
    Have not taken insulin for longer than one week during the past six months

If you qualify, you will receive study-related care and study medication(s) at no charge. You will also receive compensation for travel expenses.
